ART EXHIBIT
January 5 - February 15
With nearly two decades of artwork created by students at ArtVenture, this exhibit honours those who have made it their weekly goal to attend classes for over ten consecutive years! Focusing on a range of acrylic paintings created at ArtVenture over the years, this exhibit will highlight works completed by six artists as they continue to explore new styles and techniques in art. Their hard work and boundless dedication showcases a tremendous commitment to creativity, which is both admirable and inspiring. As we welcome a new year into our lives, we wish you all a very healthy and happy year and hope this exhibit sparks the flame of creativity within you too.
Art Classes
Offering three terms of Art Classes throughout the school year, ArtVenture’s unique studio space provides students with small class size and individualized learning. Classes are available daytime, evenings, and weekends for all ages - from Senior Kindergarten through to Adults.
With an academic approach to art education, the program infuses an element of art history and colour theory with each project. As students delve deeper into understanding the works of 19th and 20th century artists and art movements, they are guided through the process of creation and work towards finding their own artistic voice within their artwork.
January 19 to February 23, 2026
"A Brush with the Law: Artists, Crime, and Deviance"
Historically, artists have often lived unconventional lives that have included encounters with the law, either as perpetrators or victims. Since people have always been fascinated with the private lives of artists, their associations with criminal or “deviant” behaviours have contributed to the enduring legacies of these artists. By examining the involvement of select artists in cases of sexual misconduct, violent crimes, and addictions, this illustrated series of lectures will explore how certain unfortunate events contributed to their fame and notoriety. While the subject matter may seem a little gloomy, it will undoubtedly offer a fascinating perspective on artists and their inner lives!
